Benjamin M. Igwemezie, MD
Benjamin M. Igwemezie, MD is Nigerian-American. He received his MD/MB.BS at the College of Medicine at University of Nigeria in Enugu, Nigeria. He did a postdoctoral training at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital in Enugu, Nigeria.
He did his residency in internal medicine at the hospitals of Howard University in Washington, DC. He did his fellowship in nephrology at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC. He is board certified in nephrology and internal medicine. He holds an active license to practice medicine in the state of North Carolina.
Dr. Igwemezie is well known in his community as a leader in the field of nephrology. He is affiliated with the ASN, American Medical Association, American College of Physicians, National Kidney Foundation and the North Carolina Medical Society.
Rachel H. Hyler, AGNP-C, CNN
Rachel joined BMI Nephrology as a Nurse Practitioner in 2014. She obtained her Nursing Degree at the Danville Regional Medical Center School of Nursing in Danville, VA (2004). She previously served the dialysis community in Rockingham County, NC as a Registered Nurse for over seven years before obtaining her Master’s Degree in Nursing at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (2013). She is certified as an Adult/Gerontology Nurse Practitioner as well as a Nephrology Nurse.
Rachel is passionate about serving patients with kidney disease. She is the Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Educator for our patients with Stage IV CKD. She is also a member of both The National Kidney Foundation and the American Nephrology Nurses Association.
